Mason of the Year 2011: Lonnie Sorci

Excellence in Service to the Lodge

Lonnie with Mason of the Year Award from Most Worshipful Grand Master Bill Bray III.

Every year, the Master is given the honor of selecting one member of his lodge in recognition of his outstanding contributions. This year, the worthy brother is Lonnie Sorci.

Wednesday, July 20th was Scottish Rite’s 14th Annual Mason of the Year Banquet and Ceremony and was presided over by Most Worshipful William Bray III.  Many members of Grand Lodge were there including Deputy Grand Master Frank Loui, Past Grand Master and Grand Lecturer-to-be Most Worshipful Ken Nagel, and our own Inspector of the 442nd Masonic District, Worshipful Clive Moss, who received the award from Morning Star 19. The following is the account of Lonnie’s merits that was read during the award presentation.

“Brother Lonnie was identified as a Mason with great potential very early on.  He has worked all of the events that he could from the time he turned in his application in 2010 – including co-planning the Chili Cook-off this Saturday the 23rd.  He is amiable and universally liked at home and while traveling to other lodges; he brings people in to work and attend the events and is an hour early for everything.  Lonnie is a go-to guy; he is rock-solid dependable, diligent about ritual, and the type of Brother every lodge looks for.  Congratulations!”
