The day began at 8 AM with a hearty country breakfast, and, with full stomachs and satiated appetites, the brethren convened in the large lodge room to participate in the School of Instruction.  Worshipful Rose went through the first degree step by step, quite literally, educating those in attendance on the proper intricacies of our ancient craft:  where to walk, how to step, holding and displaying the working tools and rods, and to proper interpretation of the degree work.

Several of Modesto lodge’s newest members attended and were highly impressed at the level of dedication and practice that goes into creating the Masonic experience.  They walked away, along with all who attended, with a deeper understanding and appreciation for what Masons do.

Modesto Lodge no. 206 is under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Masons of California, located in San Francisco.  A regional School of Instruction is held every year and focuses on a different degree each time.

The Columbia degree is an annual event for Modesto Lodge.  The brethren gathered for dinner beforehand in Sonora, and then we proceeded to Columbia for the degree.  It was well attended, and the officers delivered an excellent degree with Brother Lee Coleman sitting in the East.

After the degree, Junior Past Master Worshipful Nick Kellner, treated all the brethren to pie and ice cream back at the restaurant.

Modesto Lodge warmly welcomes our newest members and wishes them an enlightened journey in Freemasonry.  We look forward to hearing their proficiencies and watching them progress through the degrees.

Our facility features a 200-seating capacity dining room with an adjacent commercial kitchen.  The dining room includes a stage, and tables, chairs, and a temporary dance floor can also be provided.  It is a excellent venue for wedding receptions, quinceañeras, or any other special event.

Our smaller rooms are perfect for meetings, depositions, or smaller scale events.  Our smaller rooms include the smaller lodge room, a game room, and a conference/library room.  Our building also includes a large lodge room that is ideal for larger meetings or services.  Click on “Masonic Center” above to see pictures of our facilities.

Masons often quote Matthew 7:7; “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”  In modern terms, this means that you must search out Freemasonry and ask to join because we do not recruit for members.  So, how does one “ask”?

If you are not in the Modesto area but are in California, the best place to go is here:  http://www.freemason.org/aboutUs/infoRequest.htm.  This is the Masonic Grand Lodge of California website information request form.  You can request to receive information about Freemasonry in general or receive information about lodges in your area.  If you are out of state or out of country, doing an internet search for your grand lodge will be your first stop.

The majority of our events are open to the public, and we welcome anyone interested to join us for these events and see what we are all about.  When you are ready to join the Freemasons, we will be here to warmly greet you.

Cigar Night is always the second Wednesday of the month.  Throughout the remainder of spring and summer, we meeting at the barbecue picnic area on the north side of the lodge.  Everyone is welcomed to attend:  Masons of any lodge, non-Masons, your ladies, your pets.  We welcome all.
